Eastwood Campground sits on a low ridge in a maturing maple forest at the northeast end of the Mondeaux Flowage. This is the closest of the four National Forest campgrounds on the Flowage to the Mondeaux Recreation Area and the historic lodge. A trail to the developed recreation area begins near the north end of the campground loop.
This small campground sits on a point near the middle of the Mondeaux Flowage. The camping area is a wide, shady flat next to the lakeshore and no matter where you pitch a tent, you will have views of the water. The camping area is open with very little understory. Tall red pines, birch, and several huge white pines provide plenty of shade.
Spearhead Point campground sits on a small peninsula near the north end of the Mondeaux Flowage, and is one of the most picturesque, lakeside campgrounds in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Most of the waterfront sites are among pines, balsam fir, and hemlock about 15 to 25 feet above the level of the flowage. Several south-facing sites are in fantastic lakeside settings with open views of the water. Many sites have their own landings with a small pier for fishing or docking personal watercraft.
West Point is a small, scenic lakeside campground in a narrow part of the flowage where the opposite shore is only 50 yards away. Tall hemlocks line the shoreline and provide plenty of shade for the waterfront campsites; hardwoods shade the rest of the campground.
