This small campground sits on a point near the middle of the Mondeaux Flowage. The camping area is a wide, shady flat next to the lakeshore and no matter where you pitch a tent, you will have views of the water. The camping area is open with very little understory. Tall red pines, birch, and several huge white pines provide plenty of shade.
Picnic Point has 4 individual sites for tent camping which can be combined to form a single group site with a maximum of 35 people. Amenities include drinking water (hand pump), vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and several lakeside benches. A boat launch with a gravel ramp is next to campsite #1. Garbage and recycling are available at West Point Campground, one mile away. Reserving the campground is required for group camping, individual sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sites 1, 2, and 3 offer the best views of the flowage.
The Ice Age National Scenic Trail crosses the entrance road to Picnic Point.
