The campground is in a hardwood and pine forest within easy walking distance of the park’s waterfalls and day use areas. An open lawn offers space for family activities with a children’s sandbox and swings. Every campsite is at least partially shaded and spaced well-apart from neighboring sites to provide comfortable levels of seclusion.
Brunet Island State Park lies at the confluence of the Chippewa River and Fisher River. Several lagoons and narrow channels provide fun opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. The Park also features hiking trails through hardwood forests and open fields; including a two-mile segment of the Ice Age Trail.
A high canopy of mature hardwoods and pines shade the two family campgrounds at Copper Falls State Park. The North Campground is within walking distance of the main picnic grounds, concessions, Doughboy's Trail and waterfalls. The South Campground has a shower building, accessible cabin, and more secluded campsites.
Devil’s Lake State Park is one of the most popular and scenic recreation areas in Wisconsin. The park features a 374-acre lake with tall, pine covered bluffs overlooking the east and west shores. It is a beautiful and unique geologic setting that draws visitors from all over the Midwest. Scenic trails run through mature hardwoods and whispering pines along the ridgelines. Numerous overlooks provide fantastic panoramic views of the lake and the high bluffs on the opposite shore.
Lake Wissota State Park sits on a high wooded flat on the west shore of Lake Wissota (6,148 acres). An expansive day-use area features multiple picnic grounds, two playgrounds for children, four shelters, a sandy swimming beach, a wide grass lawn for sunbathers and a beach house with changing rooms. A separate beach is available for dogs and their human companions. Other amenities include two fishing piers, a sand volleyball court, and a ball diamond. The park is well laid out and offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. This is a great destination for family vacations, especially on warm sunny weekends.
