This small, quiet recreation area is in a scenic setting on the shore of Twin Lakes (19 acres). Pine, spruce, cedar, and birch provide plenty of shade for the campground. A no-wake restriction on motorized craft creates a relaxing atmosphere for paddling and fishing. An aerator in the center of the lake helps maintain a healthy year-round fish population that includes Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass and Panfish.
There are 17 campsites that can accommodate tents and RV/trailer campers (length varies, see list below). 16 sites are back-in only and one site (#8) is a pull-through double site. Two sites (13 & 14) are accessible with a paved path to an electric well and accessible vault toilets. Both accessible sites are waterfront with excellent views of the lake. Every site has a parking spur, tent area, picnic table, and fire ring. Campground amenities include drinking water (electric well), accessible vault toilets, a carry-in canoe landing, and a boat landing with a ramp and turnaround. 7 sites are reservable and 10 are available as first-come, first-served
Lakeside Campsites with Lake Access
Roughly half of the campsites at Twin Lakes are lakeside, about 10 to 15-feet above the level of the water, with partial to open views and shoreline access. These sites include: 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, & 16
Trails & Places
A short boardwalk at the north end of the campground leads to a scenic kettle lake surrounded by spruce and tamarack bog. A spur to the Round Lake Trail Hiking Trail is on Twin Lakes Road (FR 142), opposite the campground entrance
The tourism communities of Minocqua and Woodruff are 22 miles from the campground, providing plenty of shopping and dining opportunities. The surrounding area features abundant recreation including hiking, mountain biking, bicycle paths, paddling, boating, and fishing.
