A high canopy of mature hardwoods and pines shade the two family campgrounds at Copper Falls State Park. The North Campground is within walking distance of the main picnic grounds, concessions, Doughboy's Trail and waterfalls. The South Campground has a shower building, accessible cabin, and more secluded campsites.

The North Campground has 32 campsites available for tent and RV/trailer camping (back-in only, length varies). All sites have a fire ring, picnic table, tent area and parking spur. 28 sites have electric hookup and site #7 is ADA accessible. All 32 sites are reservable. Campground amenities include drinking water and accessible vault toilets.

The South Campground has 23 non-electric campsites spread out in three small loops. These sites tend to offer more seclusion than those in the North Campground. 18 sites are available for tent and RV/trailer camping (back-in only, length varies) and 4 are walk-in tent only. All 23 sites are reservable. Every site has a fire ring, picnic table, tent area, and a parking spur. A shower building with heated showers, running water and flush toilets are available for everyone camping in the park. An RV dump station (free for registered campers) is located near the entrance of the South CG.

The South Campground has an accessible cabin which can accommodate up to four people and offers padded beds, electric outlets, and lighting. Outside the cabin is an area for tents, a paved driveway, accessible picnic table, and a fire ring. The shower building is less than 200 feet away. The cabin is intended for those with disabilities and is only reservable by contacting the Park Office at 715.274.5123.

There is one reservable group site that holds up to 40 people and is tent camping only.

Backpack Camping

A 1.3 mile-long spur off the North Country Trail leads to a backpack campsite in a beautiful setting next to the Bad River. The trail down to the site is easy to follow, but is steep in several places. A camping permit is required.
