The small recreation area is on the south shore of Emily Lake (31 acres), whose scenic waters are surrounded by a wilderness of conifers, hardwoods, and spruce-tamarack bog. Inlet and an outlet creeks are on opposite ends of the north shore. Although the lake is motorized, it does not see a lot of boat traffic and is excellent for quiet, relaxed paddling and fishing.
The campground has 11 campsites shaded by tall pines, balsam fir, and hardwoods. 10 sites can accommodate tents and RV/trailer campers (back-in only, see list below), and 1 site (#11) is tent only. Each site has a tent area, picnic table, fire ring, and parking spur. Campground amenities include drinking water (hand pump), accessible vault toilets, and a boat landing with a gravel ramp, turnaround, and trailer parking. All 11 sites are available as first-come, first-served.
Lakeside Campsites with Lake Access:
Several sites are lakefront with access to the shoreline and places to beach a canoe or kayak. Sites 3, 4, 8, 9 & 11 have limited views of the water through a screen of balsam fir and maple. Sites 2, 5, & 6 have more open views and are closest to the lake. Sites 2 and 3 are close together and can be occupied separately or as a double site.
Emily Lake is a Loon nesting site.
