A series of rapids and minor falls on the North Branch Oconto River rush past this scenic campground. A riverside trail through cedars and firs offers views of the rapids and falls. Flyfishing for Brook Trout and class III whitewater paddling (spring and early summer) are popular activities on the river.

A maturing forest of pines, balsam fir, oak, maple, and elm shade the campground. A few giant white pines are scattered throughout the area. Most campsites are spaced comfortably apart from each other with varying amounts of understory to provide pleasant levels of seclusion.

There are 30 non-electric campsites available for tent and RV/trailer camping (max length varies, see list below). Most parking spurs are long, flat and level, excellent for longer RV’s and trailers. Every site has a tent area, parking spur, picnic table and fire ring. Campground amenities include drinking water (electric well & hand pump) and accessible vault toilets. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Campsite #5 offers a unique, and scenic setting. There is a long spur for an RV's and a spacious tent area with a fire-ring on a 10-foot-high plateau shaded by tall pines.

A scenic local attraction is the Mountain Fire Lookout Tower where visitors may climb to the top of an historic, 100-foot structure to a 7-by-7-foot cab that features fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding area. Fall colors from the tower are often spectacular.
