This secluded campground is in a hardwood forest on the east shore of a narrow 6.5-mile long flowage named Moose Lake (1670 acres). The northeast end of the lake features a wilderness shoreline and several uninhabited islands providing a scenic paddling experience. Moose Lake and the West Fork of the Chippewa River offer excellent fishing for Musky, Walleye, Panfish, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass.

The Recreation Area is in a quiet area of the flowage with miles of forest stretching off to the north and east. Wildlife includes loons, grouse, eagles, deer and the occasional elk. You may hear coyotes and wolves yipping and howling on moonlit nights.

The campground has 15 non-electric campsites in a single loop. 12 sites can accommodate tents and RV/trailers (back-in only, see list below), and 3 sites are walk-in tent. Most sites have plenty of shade and are surrounded by a dense understory to offer nice levels of seclusion. Every site has a tent area, picnic table, fire ring, and a parking spur. Campground amenities include drinking water (electric well), accessible vault toilets, and a small swimming beach backed by an open grass lawn between sites #6 and #7. 9 sites are reservable and 6 are first-come, first-served.

Lakeside Campsites with Lake Access
The campsites closest to the lake are set back 25 to 50 yards from the shoreline. Several offer limited views of the lake through foliage. The following sites are closest to the lake with footpaths to the shoreline: 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, & 10

A public boat landing is north of the campground with a paved ramp, boat pier, turnaround and a trailer parking area.

Moose Lake is a Loon nesting site.
